Molybdenum

Molybdenum is essential for nitrogen metabolism and enzyme systems involved in nitrogen fixation by legumes. It is also necessary for the conversion of inorganic phosphorus into organic forms usable by plants. Molybdenum deficiency often appears as yellowing or whitening of older leaves, stunted growth, and reduced seed production. Cruciferous vegetables, legumes, and grains are commonly affected by molybdenum deficiency. Foliar sprays or soil application of molybdenum-containing fertilizers can help address deficiencies.
