Manganese

Manganese is an essential micronutrient involved in several enzymatic processes, including photosynthesis, nitrogen metabolism, and the synthesis of fatty acids and proteins. It also plays a role in the scavenging of harmful free radicals produced during photosynthesis. Manganese deficiency is characterized by interveinal chlorosis, brown spots, and reduced growth. Crops such as soybeans, wheat, and citrus fruits are particularly susceptible to manganese deficiency. Proper soil testing and the application of manganese-containing fertilizers can help alleviate deficiency symptoms.
